Shooting Star30 x 50 x 7 cmconcrete and ceramics2026The work is part of Ana Hortides‘ research on the visual repertoires of Brazilian popular architecture. The shape of the shooting star, recurrent in ornaments of facades and platbands, is moved to the sculptural field and covered by ceramic shards, a material associated with domestic construction. By transposing these elements of scale and context, the artist brings together architecture, memory and popular imagination, transforming everyday details of the urban landscape into autonomous forms.R$ 7.000

The diluted pigment runs and accumulates on irregular edges, and the soles gain weight from sculptural shapes, such as standing stones. The drawings take place between 11 pm and 3 am. This interval, when the world falls asleep and the body still watches, alters consciousness. I feel like I fall asleep, but the hand is still awake. I‘m interested in the density. There is a kind of concentrated time in it, a memory prior to language, a presence that resists disappearing. The stone carries the weight of the world, but also its duration. She seems to keep what she has passed without letting herself be consumed entirely by the movement. In my painting, the stone appears as a body, trace, surface and obstacle. It is what remains when the landscape changes, when the light moves, when the image threatens to dissolve. Its presence introduces a mineral slowness, another measure of time, closer to sedimentation than to the event.
Light, in turn, operates as a passage. It not only illuminates the forms, but destabilizes them. Light makes visible and at the same time returns things to indeterminacy. It‘s threshold, suspension, crack. I am interested in the light that does not simply clarify and that creates zones of appearance, as if each image was always about to retreat to the mystery. In painting, I seek this unstable vibration: the point at which matter begins to breathe, at which the surface starts to suggest depth, distance, atmosphere.
Blue crosses my production as an immersion field. I think of it as a temperature of the gaze, a quality of silence, an opening to daydreaming. Blue does not expand. He leads perception to an intimate distance, to a space where the gaze slows down and no longer seeks to immediately recognize what he sees. There is a suspension force in the blue, as if it sets a pause inside the image and invites the body to stay there longer. It expands the field of imagination because it preserves a zone of indeterminacy, a space where the sensitive continues to move.
Stone, light and blue thus form a kind of affective geography. From them, I build landscapes that do not intend to represent a specific place, but to establish a space of experience. They are landscapes that are born from the encounter between memory, matter and sensitivity; Images that transit between the lived and the dreamed, between recognition and invention. A place that forms within us when an image crosses us.

Silence Time60 x 100 cmcoffee, acrylic paint and pastel chalk on canvassigned on back2026Three recurring presences structure my research: stone, light and blue. Like the artist, who paints practically the same scene every day, the figure of the bather exists in a narrative that does not conclude. He is always by the sea with a body that seems to be moving. With unusual poses, it is not clear what action he is acting, although he is certainly not contemplative. The narrative becomes a day that is always repeated, a gesture that is never completely completed or revealed. One day after another, every day, the same thing.
The bather brings a figure that insists on existing, performing his own wear and tear. That survives, not by heroism, but by the banal obstinacy of existence. The repetition of scenarios, bodies, gestures and actions does not suggest transformation, but a collapse of time, desire and meaning.

Untitled30 x 30 cmoil on linensigned on back2025A maritime landscape painting with the figure of a person by the sea. It is part of the series "The bather", with more than 100 paintings produced. It starts from the premise that they must be exposed in large sets, to create an idea of the repetition and saturation of the theme. From a single photo of the artist, this image was worked with the help of AI software, to produce hundreds of variations of the same scene. The images generated are later painted in fine linens purchased at popular fabric stores in downtown Rio de Janeiro. When painting on very fine linen and without prior preparation for painting, the paint leaks to the back of the fabric. The image that is formed still accounts for the original composition, but becomes a combination of spots that make the painting more faded and fragmented. The verses are shown later, hiding the "original" image and revealing what leaked through the fabric.Like the artist, who paints practically the same scene every day, the figure of the bather exists in a narrative that does not conclude. This work arises from observation and drawing practices in the National Children‘s Park, in Santo André. I am interested here, to translate the watercolor into other supports and means, without losing intrinsic qualities to it, even if the process of painting with ceramic enamels is, too, something that is revealed only after the burning. Another Plot35 x 64 x 8 cmconcretesigned on back2016This piece results from the negative of a cutting bench used in a civil construction work. When coming into contact with the concrete, the surface of this provisional element left its marks and irregularities, which were incorporated into the piece as a relief. Thus, the work transforms the trace of a constructive operation on an autonomous surface, in which cuts, lines, crossings and overlaps form a kind of design. The resulting configuration refers to the graphic logic of a city seen from above. What was a support and work structure comes to exist as a record of an action, preserving in the concrete the marks of an operation that normally disappears throughout the construction.R$ 14.000

Tangled Series Click30 x 40 cmoil and wax on canvassigned on back2026Estalo, from the EnTangled series, explores tensions that cross the relationship between body and technology. The bare wires refer to the possibility of shock, bringing desire, risk and sensitivity closer together. From these connections, wires and electronic devices integrate a field of contamination in which the organic and the synthetic are confused. The borders between these dimensions become unstable, opening space to imagine other possibilities of existence and futures that escape the usual norms and ways of understanding bodies and their relations with the world in contemporary times.R$ 1.960

"These are muscular dreams, action dreams, aggressive dreams. A dream that I jump, that I swim, that I run, that I jump. Frantz Fanon.
The series takes the artist‘s own body as a matrix and stamp: it is through its presence, pressure and effort that images are produced on paper.
In this process, the body is simultaneously subject and tool, surface and printing. The works articulate desire, repulsion, effort, work and freedom. To think of the dream as an escape - as a space for action and the elaboration of gestures that, during the vigil, are contained, disciplined or interrupted. Rush40 x 50 cmoil on canvassigned on back2025In this realistic oil painting, kitsch aesthetics and queer culture cross under a hyper-reflective surface. The screen captures the bodywork of an automobile in a dizzying distortion, creating the illusion of liquid metal in shades of blue and silver. The highlight is the word "rush", which introduces the central dichotomy of the work: the tension between speed, danger and seduction. On the one hand, the screen evokes adrenaline and the imminent risk of automotive culture; On the other hand, it captures the febrile ecstasy, the pulse and the urgency of desire in the LGBTQIA+ nightlife.R$ 10.000

Ethereal Animals30 x 40 x 3 cmoil on canvassigned on back2025I‘ve always had an interest in seeing shapes turning into fabulous animals since my childhood. My favorite children‘s readings were fables with intelligent animals. Spots, clouds, drawings are transformed. When I launch my paintings on the canvas, the references of people, for example, become an equivalence of an imaginary animal, speaking either esoteric, sometimes sexual, fabulous. They seem to tell stories of a nature that I still can‘t identify very well yet. The expressions and not expressions, of the animals, are not previously chosen, they simply hatch from the drawing.R$ 3.500

Suspended Piece I Of The Passover Series30 x 40 cmoil ink and clay printing on canvassigned on back2026In the work in question, "Pedaço Suspended I", clay performs the function of mediation between the paint and the surface of the fabric of the canvas. From the Passosuro series, the work manifests itself as a rite of passage; A poetic bet of alignment with the central axis of the work, which is found in the gesture of approaching the painting, engraving and ceramics. In this context, it begins with a procedure of applying oil to a piece of wet clay that follows a print/stamp on the blank canvas that results in both pictorial (painting order) and monotypic (engraving order) figures.R$ 3.150

On This Road: Don‘t Come Back50 x 40 cmacrylic, colored pencils and collage on canvas2026An enigmatic profile merges with a fragmented landscape in geometric planes of pastel tones. The mixed technique, acrylic, colored pencils and collage, builds textures that oscillate between industrial and dreamlike. A ladder appears as an architectural memory inside the head, while a winding path crosses the composition, suggesting crossing and permanence. The title echoes as a warning: a threshold between departure and return, where identity and landscape are confused in a single image.R$ 5.600

Attempt60 x 80 cmoil on canvassigned on back2024In attempt, the representation of industrial gears makes up a structure that seeks to operate between the technical organization and the dysfunction. Oil painting displaces the image of the gears of its instrumental function, subjecting its forms to distortions that bring the machinery closer to an unstable anatomy. The work thus seeks to evoke a continuous attempt at operation, in which the promise of precision gives way to deviation and failure.Current bid

Woodpecker Pollen40 x 40 cmoil, oily stick and pigment on canvas2026Woodpecker does not give pollen. But in this painting it might. In woodpecker pollen, the shapes appear during the making itself, without a previous drawing or a defined image. One color pulls another, a risk crosses a mass, one shape is covered until another appears. Oil, oily stick and loose pigment behave differently on the surface: they run, scratch, accumulate, turn into dust. Gradually things appear that resemble beaks, feathers, flowers, insects, pieces of garden. The title comes from the same game of associations, as if the painting had invented a species and, along with it, a substance that could only exist there.Current bid

Geofactory No. 442 x 55 cmpaper and lacquered wood support2024Geology #4 is part of a series of six collages in which the artist explores the contrast between a so-called domesticated nature and a supposedly wild one, putting them in relation and crossing them by geometric shapes in black and white. The interest in the approximation of these images is born from the artist‘s readings and research around the Anthropocene, especially on the construction of the idea of nature as something separated from culture and on the insistence on perceiving ourselves separated from it. The work questions this division and thinks how the mistake of positioning ourselves as superior to nature sustains an exploitative relationship that threatens the very conditions of our existence.R$ 3.850

The brutality of the material finds organic forms, creating a tension between rigidity and movement. The works of the Wall Painting series started in 2013 underwent a kind of taxonomy on a dissection table. Once dissected, the worn sandpapers used in the renovation of my residence and my studio located in the same apartment in downtown São Paulo, which constitute these works, generated another series part, entitled Wall Painting [Retails], produced between 2020 and 2021, and with the skinned flaps of these leftover sandpapers. Now, between 2024 and 2025, I decided to produce larger, unprecedented paintings, formed by two parts and composed of 128 patches each.
In the case of the Wall Painting series [paintings] and [retails], the movement and the gesture mirror a portion of sandpaper, such as a portion of a farm that was cut from a piece to make a patchwork quilt, emphasizing a certain organic geometry of a patchwork skinned, for its rosy and reddish tones in "living meat".
