Geology #4 is part of a series of six collages in which the artist explores the contrast between a so-called domesticated nature and a supposedly wild one, putting them in relation and crossing them by geometric shapes in black and white. The interest in the approximation of these images is born from the artist‘s readings and research around the Anthropocene, especially on the construction of the idea of nature as something separated from culture and on the insistence on perceiving ourselves separated from it. The work questions this division and thinks how the mistake of positioning ourselves as superior to nature sustains an exploitative relationship that threatens the very conditions of our existence.
