In the work in question, "Pedaço Suspended I", clay performs the function of mediation between the paint and the surface of the fabric of the canvas. From the Passosuro series, the work manifests itself as a rite of passage; A poetic bet of alignment with the central axis of the work, which is found in the gesture of approaching the painting, engraving and ceramics. In this context, it begins with a procedure of applying oil to a piece of wet clay that follows a print/stamp on the blank canvas that results in both pictorial (painting order) and monotypic (engraving order) figures.
