Muscular Dreams Part of Frantz Fanon‘s notion of "muscle dreams": dreams of action, movement and aggression experienced by the colonized body.
"These are muscular dreams, action dreams, aggressive dreams. A dream that I jump, that I swim, that I run, that I jump. Frantz Fanon.
The series takes the artist‘s own body as a matrix and stamp: it is through its presence, pressure and effort that images are produced on paper.
In this process, the body is simultaneously subject and tool, surface and printing. The works articulate desire, repulsion, effort, work and freedom. To think of the dream as an escape - as a space for action and the elaboration of gestures that, during the vigil, are contained, disciplined or interrupted. What remains on paper is the trail of this encounter between body, matter and action.
