The Basalto series has already been exhibited at the Paranaense Museum, Curitiba, 2024 and almost space, São Paulo, 2024.
The Basalto series is part of the Pedra Paulista long-term research, which investigates how the geological structures of the State of São Paulo support mineral extraction and urbanization. Started in 2023 during the Terra Saúva Residency (Botucatu), the project traveled through sand, granite and basalt quarries in the interior of São Paulo. The image records the quarry in Reginópolis, where basaltic columns formed by volcanic cooling are fragmented by regular explosions and feed the production of gravel and asphalt.
