This chalice is removed from me this chalice is linked to the music of Chico Buarque and Gilberto Gil and rescues the historical moment of Dilma Rousseff‘s trial during the military dictatorship, in 1970. The work reinterprets the iconic image of the interrogation, replacing Dilma with a quote View to the "Capium of Saint John" by Hans Memling. The military in the background, hiding their faces, reinforce the regime‘s cowardice and oppression. The presence of the chalice connects to the ace of the Tarot Ace of Cups, which symbolizes both the emotional potential and the challenges that arise in its fullness. The painting synthesizes Dilma‘s martyrdom and resistance, evoking sacrifice, renewal and denouncement to oppressive power structures.
